I'll be in Dhaka from June 8th through 16th of June. I called our landlord; "Do you need something from Japan?" He answered, "Soaps and toothpaste" Of course I bought maountain of them, since he is very kind and helpful to us. What's more, he will have a baby very soon. Some people make it a rule not to use products made in Bangladesh: soaps, toothpaste and Dhaka's tap water. They are very careful since they doubt the ingredients.
I brought some cokroach hotels and repellants from Japan and our office is free from them. The landlord says, "Made in Japan goods are excelent and reliable. Buy for me, too" I did, but he does not use them effectively, because his son is still too young to understand. In fact, living in Dhaka even for a short time, I get full of ideas that Dhaka's people would enjoy any convenient goods from Japan.
June is fruit season in Bangladesh. I am dreaming of eating mangoes from my own trees. There are laxuaries of fruit there in May and June. You cannot enjoy the benefit of the sun in Japan!
